Earlier this year, we stayed at Love2Stay Shrewsbury and it’s such a lovely campsite. While the hot tubs weren’t directly on the pitch, there were three communal ones available to guests staying on-site. Using these was still a great experience!
They also had a natural swimming pool, which I used a few times. Super refreshing and a really nice touch.
Why I started looking for campsites with hot tubs
So, why am I writing this post?
Well, one of the reasons I launched this site was because I struggled to find exactly what I was looking for when planning our trips. I’d browse the usual camping listing sites, but I kept noticing gap. This was true especially when it came to campsites with hot tubs. It was something my wife was really keen on trying and I figured we couldn’t be the only ones.
I ended up asking friends who also have campervans. They gave us some great suggestions. Even then, it was clear that hot tub pitches are in high demand. You really have to book well in advance. That’s a bit tricky for us since we’re tied to school term dates and holidays. So far, Love2Stay is the only one we’ve managed to book.
Why hot tub pitches are becoming so popular
One thing I’ve discovered since launching this website is that there’s growing interest in campsites with hot tubs, particularly among campervan, caravan and motorhome owners. After spending the day walking, cycling, surfing, sightseeing or simply driving between destinations, having access to a hot tub can be a great way to relax and unwind in the evening.
For many campers, a hot tub adds a touch of luxury without giving up the freedom of touring. It allows you to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle while still having some of the comforts normally associated with a hotel or spa break. This is especially appealing during the cooler months when campsites can still offer memorable experiences even after the sun goes down.
Why they are hard to find
What surprised me during my research is just how few campsites currently offer dedicated hot tub pitches. While the UK has thousands of campsites and holiday parks, only a relatively small number provide private hot tubs directly on touring pitches for caravans, campervans and motorhomes.
Most sites that advertise hot tubs tend to offer them with lodges, glamping accommodation or as shared facilities rather than as part of an individual pitch. This helps explain why the pitches that do have private hot tubs are often booked well in advance.
